Money Making Guide

The title of today's post is a misnomer. If there was a guide that told you 'Do this and you will profit', then it would no longer be relevant. Such a guide would hurt the profit making ability for the poster of the guide, since competition could learn from his guide and compete with him. Also, if everyone reads the guide and starts doing it, you would end up with over-saturation and too much supply, so demand would go down and it's profits would disappear.

If you have ever seen the advertisements on WoW websites that claim 'Buy this guide to make millions', don't be fooled. They might contain a map of a good place to farm for a particular trade material that is used often and is often in high demand. Or it might have charts or graphs to make you think you spent money on something useful. In truth all that such a guide could ever possibly do is say "I made money thinking like this, and here's what I did after that and I made money." The take-home lessons should be this 'Epiphany" and how to recreate it today, not what it's results were back then.

If I want to make money, I reference all of the data available to me, think about it strategically away from my computer, and come back with a plan. You're not going to make profit if you just try random things and hope for the best. That is what waitresses or construction workers do whenever they buy a lotto ticket. You have to have a plan, you have to have the data to evaluate the success or failure of your plan, and you have to apply this learned experience to your endeavors afterwords.

Take this advice for today: Standing still is moving backwards.
