This week's winner is someone who complained that I was sitting in Orgrimmar, on a mailbox, crafting items and mailing them to my banker. He said 'Why don't you get to 80?' I told him because there is not more gold to be made at 80, only more ways to waste it. He begins to 'save me' from my mistakes, tells me I can do daily quests to make gold at 80 so I should go level. After trying to explain to him that all the money people making farming Daily quests all day goes to the AH, I collect my money there from people like him. Then he turns around and says 'I know everything about the AH, the trick is to control prices'. Absolute fool, and here is why: out of 8000 players on your realm that you can compete with on the AH, you think that you can control prices? If you try, someone can come along and disrupt your operations very easily. Does he mean flipping auctions, buying low and selling high immediately? I laugh whenever I see someone try to do that to me, I just keep making more of X glyph that they try to flip and keep posting at lower price. Eventually I've sold him 20 Glyphs of feign death, or other silly thing, and he won't be able to ever sell them because A: I price better than him, and B: there isn't that much demand for only 1 glyph.
The person who thinks he knows everything about the AH is the one who stands to loose the most money. You cannot accurately predict it's rise and fall, but you can guess pretty close with experience. This person is substituting guessing and 3-5 seconds of stupid logic to replace experience. He will never learn how to make large amounts of money on the AH, because he knows it all. I pity this person, but not until after I make gold from his actions.
