So I promised I would share with you a Niche I found on the server. It comes from the only drop recipe for inscription in-game as of 3.2, so perhaps that leads to it's rarity. Apparently, inscription recipes are called 'Techniques', because that is what this is. Technique: Rituals of the New Moon.
Now, this recipe is not new, in fact it's been around for a while. It has a few things going for it though. It's a reusable character costume, infinite uses. Not everyone knows about it (in fact, on my server it was basically unheard of). The Technique has a low drop rate which discourages people from farming for it. And there are 4 varieties, each time you craft it will produce a random color of 4 possible.
Those all contributed to this item being unsaturated, but what really made this item shine was it's relatively cheap crafting costs, versus it's end product. People pay thousands of gold for 'Orb of Inflation (deception). Deviate Delights have been a popular seller since Vanilla wow. People just like novelty, and will often pay top dollar for it. It also has /emotes, and stacks with enlarge buff food. When I showed up in Orgrimmar in wolf form next to a Shaman, he bought 3 of them (It's bigger than his spell). So for about 15G materials costs, I was producing these books rapid-fire and selling them for 75-100G, and I probably could have gone higher. That's 600% profit!
This item may be well documented on your server, so it might not work. It's just a niche I found while exploring wowhead for ideas, and cross-referencing my findings with the AH. You might find something like this in your trade! Niche markets are fun!
