Profit Tip

This tip was given to me by a Rogue, but I believe it would be doable by a Druid or a skilled Hunter. You have to be an herbalist. Your guild has to be able to clear Ulduar up to Kologarn.

Essentially, you farm Freya's room. Big shocker, I know. But consider it. If you arrange it with your guild leaders in advance, they can skip Freya for a very long time for you. You will have Zero competition for nodes as it's an instance. The drop rate for Frost Lotus is the highest anywhere (I've hear upwards of 40 per hour) and the nodes respawn every half hour. It will probably only take 10 minutes to clear, go watch a show or eat some food, come back. If you use Vanish as a rogue, it may be possible to go faster. Feign Death and using pet to distract while picking sounds plausible, but I haven't seen it tested with patrol routes and timing.

On Doomhammer, each Frost Lotus can sell for upwards of 40 Gold. Only including these herbs then and ignoring the other high-level herbs, you're making 1600 Gold per hour. Milk it until Cataclysm and Northrend herbs go down, just remember to control your auctions and don't flood the market, or else you'll loose profits!

Also as a reminder: Remember to ask your guild in advance and thank them if they let you do this. For a rogue to have herbalism instead of min/maxing trades for raid dps might offend some more opinionated elitist minds. If you can make this work for you though, it's a pot of gold.
