MMO = Multiplayer Market Online

A recent concern that has been discussed was a fear of loss of market share. Goblins work hard to earn a piece of the pie, and generally don't want to share it with anyone once they obtain it. The perpetual wisdom we need to consider is that no profit is free of competition, we must always think!

So today's example is an exploration of what a server populated with shrewd businessmen and moneymakers would be like.

Imagine; Everyone knew the price of things instinctively, no one impulse purchased anything, all prices were bartered down to minimum profit margins, undercutting on the AH happened within 5 seconds of posting anything. There would be no 'Niche' markets here as every item would be marketed every day. Profits would be recorded in Silvers, not Gold. Profit would still be made though. No one would ever 'Flip' Auctions, as there would be Zero margin to do so. Inflation would be unheard of, demand would be less as supplies would be constant. The Auction House would lag horribly as 400 or so people would inhabit it. No one would own a mount more expensive than the free Alterac Valley wolf. Trade channel would require it's own window for most because it would scroll so fast as to obscure other channels. Yogg would have been on farm for 'Raiding' guild because then they could sell spots to the more popular 'wealthy' guilds.

Oh yes, and no one would feed the 'trolls' in trade or local because there wouldn't be any. Also, this game would only be played by middle-aged people with some real-world education or wealth (experience), or maybe Nigerians. There would not be any 'Chinese Gold Farmers' or otherwise, No one would purchase their currency. Raiding would occur as a fringe hobby, or raid spots would always be purchased in advance as a commodity. Gear quality would be wallet based, as seeing raid bosses would cost Gold, so dropped gear would be a ratio of Gold/Weeks with some chance thrown in.

I think it would be nice!
